Meet Charlene Lovett, DGND 2029-2030

Meet Charlene Lovett!

District Governor Nominee Designate, 2029–2030

Charlene Lovett’s journey has taken her from her hometown of Claremont, New Hampshire, to a distinguished military career, public service, and leadership in Rotary. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: her commitment to serving others.

At 17, Charlene enlisted in the U.S. Army, beginning a 22-year career in military intelligence. Following her retirement, she brought her experience and leadership skills to the business world, working in business development in the Washington, D.C., area.

In 2008, Charlene returned to Claremont, where she and her husband, Bob, raised their youngest daughter, Marion. It wasn't long before she became deeply involved in her hometown once again. Over the years, she has served as a school board member, state representative, city councilor, and mayor for six years. Her passion for community service continues today through her involvement on several local, state, and regional boards.

Charlene's Rotary journey began in 2014 as a charter member of the Claremont-Sugar River Rotary Club. Since then, she has embraced opportunities to serve at both the club and district levels, taking on roles as club president, youth exchange officer, assistant governor, and co-chair of the District International Service Committee.

Now, Charlene is preparing for her next chapter in Rotary leadership, having been selected as District Governor Nominee Designate for the 2029–2030 Rotary year.

From military service to community leadership to Rotary, Charlene has built a lifetime around making a difference. We look forward to the energy, experience, and perspective she will bring to District 7870!
